File another firetruck fire in the Firetrucks on Fire file: this morning, the Baltimore City Fire Department tweeted out the news, with photographs, that their Rescue 1 truck—RES1CUE, as the paint or decal job on its flanks has it—had burst into flames on I-95. “Expect some traffic delays,” the fire department added, @-ing the Baltimore City Department of Transportation, which did not reply to the tweet.
The final photograph suggests that the firefighters successfully fought the firetruck fire. WBAL notes that the firefighters’ union tweeted that the truck was 17 years old and that they had expressed concerns about the state of overall maintenance. Will the firefighters fight over having to fight the firetruck fire?
As #BCFD members responded to a call, our Rescue 1 vehicle caught fire. FFs saw smoke coming from under the seats & immediately pulled over as flames spread.
