My mom passed a coupla years ago and I had her mail forwarded to our house. She lives on in appeals from Public Radio, Habitat For Humanity, and other worthy charities, a subscription to TIME magazine, and a solid assortment of direct mail catalogs.
Today we received a Collections Etc.® catalog, full of homey items to decorate, save labor, and enhance the household experience. Think of it as Skymall and/or The Sharper Image for folks who never leave their yard.
The cover warned me that this was the final catalog, and I took the admonition seriously, because they know their market, and they understand the implications of a lack of response to their mailings, so I’m gonna buy the grow-your-own catnip product to keep the subscription alive, since we ended up with her cat.
