The results are in from the big Hugh Hefner estate auction and we learned that one person’s sorrow is another person’s inspiration. Pretty much every item took in way above stated auction house estimates, and some items went for astounding multiples of their estimated auction value.
For the price of Hefner’s old typewriter—estimate $2,000-4,000, winning bid $162,500—an aspiring playboy could have bought an Audi R8 and a bespoke suit for every day of the week.
Hefner’s “TIME TO FUCK” watch, estimated at $200-400, went for as much as a Cartier.
