The BBC reports that Pete Shelley, the frontman of the Buzzcocks, died at the age of 63 in Estonia. The naughty name and the fine 1977 single “Orgasm Addict” made the Buzzcocks exemplars of the shockingness of the Punk Rock movement, when society still valued its ability to be shocked, but within the punk idiom they were a tuneful and affecting pop band, and their biggest hit, “Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t’ve),” deserves to be immortal, even if human beings are not.
